Zha Nan Ben Zha Tong Sui: “…”
Just when Tong Sui was hesitating about when Ye Lin Yuan would mention their breakup after school, his lightbrain received a message.
Ye Lin Yuan: [Office]
Tong Sui still hadn’t figured out how to face him and hesitated for a long time before slowly replying.
Tong Sui: [I want to eat at the cafeteria today.]
Ye Lin Yuan: [Which one? I’ll come find you.]
Tong Sui: [No need, I’m with my roommate, it’s not very convenient…]
After he sent this message, he hurriedly closed his lightbrain, not daring to look again, and stood up to go out with Xiao Pao.
When Tong Sui arrived at the cafeteria, his other roommates were a bit surprised.
He went to get his meal but barely ate a few bites, looking distracted.
He couldn’t tell if it was just his subjective feeling, but no matter how delicious the cafeteria food was, it never compared to what Ye Lin Yuan made.
He ate very little before returning to the dormitory early.
Tong Sui pushed open the dorm door and heard Jiang Che’s voice inside.
He seemed to be on a call with someone.
“Okay, I’ll join that competition too. I’ll send you the materials later.”
“Are you going out for the break? I’ll think about it.”
Jiang Che hung up the call and turned to see Tong Sui, his expression briefly awkward, and his face flushed.
Tong Sui asked, “Are you in a relationship?”
Jiang Che’s face turned instantly red, and he stood up, waving his hands, “No, no! It’s just a study partner…”
“Then I misunderstood.” Tong Sui said, “But if he invites you out, you should go. It’s exhausting to just study all the time.”
Jiang Che looked down, somewhat hesitant. “But what if I get too close and he finds out I’m Omega? That would be bad.”
Tong Sui reassured him, “Don’t be afraid, just go. Don’t you want to?”
Jiang Che nodded slightly.
“Okay, then I’ll reply to him.”
Tong Sui took off his jacket, and out of the corner of his eye, he caught Jiang Che’s sweet smile while replying to the message.
On the other end of the communication was the main character.
It seemed their relationship was developing quite steadily.
Just as Tong Sui sat down and was about to take a break, the other roommates returned.
“Brother Sui, here.”
Xiao Pao handed him a lunch box, the familiar style made Tong Sui freeze.
Tong Sui took it, asking, “Where did you get this?”
“A classmate I don’t know told me to give it to you.” Xiao Pao said, “Could it be your Omega? Why didn’t he just give it to you directly? Are you two really in conflict?”
Tong Sui hesitated as he opened the lunch box.
Today’s dishes were especially rich and varied, clearly showcasing Ye Lin Yuan’s improved culinary skills.
The aroma wafted out, and even a full Alpha like him felt a bit hungry.
“Brother Sui, with skills like this, why eat cafeteria food?” Xiao Pao leaned in closer, “Wow, even the eggs are heart-shaped. Brother Sui, don’t be mad at him.”
“I’m not angry, I just…”
Tong Sui’s lightbrain pinged with a message.
He opened it to see Ye Lin Yuan’s message: [Did you receive it?]
Tong Sui replied: [Yes, but I said I would eat at the cafeteria. You don’t have to go through the trouble.]
Ye Lin Yuan: [I already made it, it’s not a hassle.]
Ye Lin Yuan: [Your matters cannot be considered a hassle.]
Tong Sui stared at the message.
The more guilty he felt, the more Ye Lin Yuan’s kindness made him want to escape.
Just as he thought about how to reply, his lightbrain buzzed again.
Ye Lin Yuan: [Extra lessons tonight?]
Tong Sui: [I’m a bit tired. Can I take a break for a day?]
Ye Lin Yuan: [Okay.]
Tong Sui: [(づ ̄3 ̄)づ]
Looking at the meal that Ye Lin Yuan prepared for him, he realized there was no heating equipment in the dormitory, and if he didn’t finish, it would definitely spoil.
So he called his other roommates to join him.
After finishing the meal, Tong Sui washed the dishes.
He lay in bed preparing to sleep, but as soon as he closed his eyes, he recalled the scene from last night, where Ye Lin Yuan repeatedly asked him, “Who am I?”
Groggy, he woke up to find he had spaced out during the afternoon classes.
By evening, he still hadn’t processed everything. Oh, he didn’t have to go to Ye Lin Yuan’s place today, so what should he do?
His roommates, except for Jiang Che, were either studying, going out to have fun, or chatting and playing games.
Meanwhile, in the office, the lights were bright.
Ye Lin Yuan had a grim expression, with piles of paperwork he hadn’t been able to handle recently sitting beside him.
When his assistant knocked and entered, they were engulfed by his low pressure, shivering slightly.
It had been a long time since Ye Lin Yuan had looked so upset; even in the past, though he appeared cold and fierce, one could realize it was just a façade upon closer interaction.
This was different; now, the way he looked at the documents was akin to gazing at a mortal enemy.
Without looking up, Ye Lin Yuan said indifferently, “What is it?”
“A banquet invitation,” the assistant said cautiously, placing the invitation at the corner of the desk. “The day after tomorrow evening, the Tong family.”
Before the invitation could touch the table corner, it was snatched away.
Ye Lin Yuan quickly tore it open.
After seeing the content of the invitation, the oppressive atmosphere seemed to diminish.
The assistant quietly withdrew.
No wonder he was in a bad mood; it turned out that person hadn’t come today.
Tong Sui drifted through the second day in a haze.
When he returned to the dorm, he found everyone packing. He was momentarily confused.
“Brother Sui, aren’t you going home?”
Seeing his bewildered expression, Xiao Pao said, “You haven’t forgotten about the break, have you? It’s two whole days off! I’m going to catch up on the sleep I missed this morning.”
Then Tong Sui remembered that they had a break.
A call from Tong Si Nian came in, and he answered it.
“Bro, I’m on break now.”
“Yeah, I’m already at your school gate to pick you up.” Tong Si Nian said, “You sound much better; I was worried you might be sick.”
